WE VALUE STANDARD IN PROJECT EXECUTION- AMOSUN

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has reiterated that quality and standard would continue to be the watchword of his administration in the execution of all infrastructural projects taking place across the State. Governor Amosun stated this at the opening of a 2-Day National Workshop, Ogun 2017, organized by the Nigerian Institute of Quality Surveyors, with the theme ‘’Procurement of Infrastructural Facilities , Professional Perspectives” held at the IBD international Hotel, Abeokuta. Represented by his Deputy, Chief (Mrs) Yetunde Onanuga, Amosun revealed that his administration had ensured due diligence before awarding contracts in order to uphold ‘’Ogun standard’’. The Governor while congratulating the organizers and all those who have contributed to the success of the workshop, maintained that ‘’hosting the workshop at this time could not have been more apt especially now that new development approach were being considered in the construction of critical socio-economic infrastructure. Governor Amosun revealed that in the last six years of his administration, deployment of quality building materials have not been compromised in the reconstruction of existing infrastructure and construction of new ones, maintaining that the development explained the prominence government has placed on the ‘’Ogun standard’’ signature. He added that the quest by his administration to ensure that projects executed by it outlived generations, prompted the deployment of qualified professionals including Engineers, Surveyors, Architects among others, for ongoing construction works in the State, urging members of the institute to tap into the wealth of experience of the revered members present at the workshop. Earlier, the President of the Institute, Mrs Mercy Torkwase Iyortyer commended Amosun’s administration for the implementation of unprecedented projects and its infrastructural drive which according to her has begun to yield positive results, just as the Chairman, Ogun State Chapter of the Institute, Mr Jacob Awolesi, appreciated Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his supports to professional bodies and for creating enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
