The Ogun State government under the leadership of Senator Ibikunle Amosun has concluded plans with the Africa Export Import Bank (AFREXIM-BANK) to build and Industrial Park and an International Certification Centre in Ogun State.
Governor Amosun made this known in Abeokuta on Friday while receiving the team from Africa Export Import Bank who came to pay him a courtesy call at his office in Abeokuta.
The Governor noted that the park as well as the centre which would sit on a five hectares of land when completed would add value to Nigerian products to meet food and safety export standard.
Governor Amosun added that the initiative will in the long run create wealth for the people and by extension help solve the nation's security challenges because the citizens would be gainfully employed.
The Governor who expressed his delight in the citing of the centre in the state noted that government cannot do it alone without the collaboration of the private sector adding that the government would always create the enabling environment.
Speaking earlier, the Regional Manager of Anglophone West Africa, Mr. Abdoulaye Kone said the bank through the park will serve as Trade Finance between Ogun, ECOWAS States, other countries and the world beyond.
Mr. Kone added that the core of the initiative is to generate more export from Nigeria and Ogun State in particular which will provide assistance in terms of trade, industrialisation and export management.
