Clerics worldwide have been charged to use their sermons, words, moderations and friendly human disposition as tool for the remodeling of the bigger society.
This charge was given by a broadcast journalist and a former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Information Chapel, Pastor Adewole Dosumu, while speaking at the 2023 Leadership Enhancement Initiative Conference (LEIC) held at Christ Apostolic Church, Dove House, London.
Speaking on the Theme: Regenerative Leadership, Pastor Dosumu stressed the importance of the viable modes of communication which he said was paramount in bringing about and sustaining dependable leadership that the younger generation can trust.
The former Chairman pointed out the role the media plays in propagating the Gospel and showing the right direction through its gatekeeping responsibility.
Pastor Dosumu enjoined religious organizations to key into the positive notes provided by putting in place, well thought-out sermons, religious programs and services on the social media.
Dosunmu, also used the medium to call the attention of youths to social vices, by suggesting alternatives and better ways of doing things saying these will help curtail the increase in the rate of indecency that is common in our society.
He admonished clerics to be sensitive to the needs of their members and provide means of assistance in such times, noting that It will help in repairing the lost confidence members have in religious organisation.
