SWAN Competition: Information Chapel Team Defeats Defending Champion

The Football Team of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Information Chapel has defeated the defending champion of the Sport's Writer's Association of Nigeria football Competition, Consolidated Chapel with 2 goals to 1 in the ongoing second edition of the tournament.

The 5-Aside match played on Friday at the FunTurf Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta saw the brilliant performance and coordination of Information Team netting two goals against their opponent in the first 5 minutes of the match which destabilized, scattered and brought confusion to the defending champion's team and their pattern of play.

Consolidated Chapel in their attempt to remain in the tournament and to defend their title struggled to get a goal in the second half.

Speaking with journalists after the match, the Captain of State Information Chapel Team, Mr. Femi Osipitan while acknowledging that the Consolidated Chapel Team were not that bad attributed the victory of his team to its discipline, dedication and focus on the goal boasting that the Trophy is coming to Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.
