FG THUMBS UP OGHA SERVICE COMMISSION ON LANDMARK ACHIEVEMENTS

The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has given kudos to the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission for its numerous achievements especially in the areas of Employment, Promotion Exercise and setting up of a Disciplinary Committee towards checkmating acts of indiscipline among staffers of the legislative arm of government. 

The Acting Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission, Hon. Hakeem Akamo who stated this during a courtesy visit to the Commission's complex in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta commended the Commission for achieving 85 percent of its target objectives since the last National Assembly Service Commission Conference held over a year ago.

Akamo who hinted that State Houses of Assembly should be prepared for full implementation of Autonomy with all the necessary paper work charged the Commission's leadership to build capacity, improve on work environment and the welfare of staffers among others.
In her remarks, the Director, Establishment, Records and Training, NASC, Princess Omobolanle Lipede enjoined the Commission to ensure utmost professionalism in the discharge of its duties, adding that the  Commission should adopt all the functions and items stated in the law backing its establishment in order to appropriately guide the third arm of government.

On his part, the Acting Chairman, Ogun State House of Assembly Service  Commission, Dr. Ibidapo Odukoya assured that the welfare and interest of the Commission's staff would always be top priority revealing that promotion letters would soon be released. 

Odukoya while appreciating the federal team for their visit commended the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for creating the enabling environment and for not relenting in his effort at improving and bettering the lives of the people of the State.

Assuring the team, the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon. Olakunle Oluomo who pledged the 10th Assembly's support for both the National and State Assembly Service Commission promised to ensure total implementation when full Autonomy is granted while he appealed to members of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) team and other members of staff to give the legislative arm more time to work on how to accommodate their demands.

Earlier, the PASAN team led by Comrade, Ayotunde Ojediran had made known its position on the implementation of Consolidated Legislative Salary Structure (CONLESS), noting that the adjustment would improve the lives of members of staff. 

Lending his voice when visited by the National Assembly Service Commission team in his palace, the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland, HRM, Oba (Dr) Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo said Ogun State has always been known for its giant strides in infrastructural development and would not drop the ball.
