Tendering its apology in a phone conversation, the National Secretary-General of the Union, Dr. Mike Ike-Ene said “the error was from the person who interviewed me because I never mentioned Ogun State”. Dr. Ike-Ene described the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun as a Teacher friendly Governor who has transformed the education sector positively and continues to give priority to the welfare of Teachers. “Governor Amosun has transformed all areas of the State including the education sector, so I would not in my right senses mention Ogun State. The error was from the person who interviewed me. So, we apologise to the Government of Ogun State, Teachers and the entire good people of the State for misleading the public in the publication,’’ Dr. Ike-Ene submitted. On his part, the State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Oshinowo, expressed surprise about the publication said, the State Government has continued to pay salaries of all its workers as and when due.
