A former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, who also serves as Chairman, Assembly Service Commission, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekumbi has assured workers of the Commission and House of Assembly of their readiness to collaborate with the main Civil Service Commission in the State in achieving governmental set goals.
Adekumbi made the assurance in Abeokuta at the induction and training programme for newly recruited officers to the Commission, noting that the collaboration was imperative at ensuring synergy and growth between the Legislative and Executive Arms of Government.
He enjoined the officers to justify their recruitment in the service as a will of God and service to their father’s land, saying that many had no such opportunities, hence, the need for them to contribute their quota meaningfully well to the Commission and the State at large.
“Indeed, it is an opportunity for you to be a staff of the Commission, you need to contribute your expertise and knowledge to the growth and development of the Commission and the State Government, so as to justify your recruitment,” Adekumbi said.
The Ex Speaker applauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for the approval of both recruitment and the Induction of the new officers, noting that it was a blessing to the Executive and Legislative Arms.
In his remarks, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya enjoined the inductees to live a life of accountability and transparency in service, adding that it was a grace for them to be shortlisted among the many applicants that applied for the job.
"You have been called into a noble job that needs total dedication, you must be well guided by the books and see your employment as a call to service and duty", HoS said.
In her contribution, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishment and Training, Mrs. Lydia Fajounbo, said the collaboration of the Assembly Commission together with the mainstream was the first of its kind in the history of the Civil Service in the State, saying that the training was necessary to foster quality and efficiency in service delivery.
She admonished the new officers to abide by the rules and regulations, adding that there were various rules to guide them in the service for effective performance such as Civil Service, Public Service and Financial Regulation rules.
Appreciating the Governor, some of the newly recruited staff, an Administrative Officer, Mr. Olufemi Kadiri and an Information Officer/Public Relations Officer, Miss. Feyisara Olaleye, assured of their professionalism in the line of duty.
