NO AMOUNT EARMARKED TO MARK OGUN @ 40 – SSG
In its preparation towards the 40th anniversary celebration of Ogun State, the Government has said that it has not earmarked any amount for the celebration because the anniversary is basically aimed at commissioning completed projects across the State.
Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa who disclosed this at a press briefing today in Abeokuta added that the aim of the Government is to render its stewardship to the people of the State and not a jamboree of activities.
‘’I can tell you that as at today no amount has been earmarked for this anniversary so far. The reason is because, Government is not interested in jamboree of activities rather, it’s more of stewardship to our people. We are harvesting the glory of God in the lives of our people. That is why it has been tagged Operation 40 at 40’’,Adeoluwa said.
The State scribe disclosed that the weeklong event kicks off on Friday, January 29 with a quiz competition among the pupils of public schools in the State and would be followed with a Special Jumat Service at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, while Football Competition would take place in the evening between Gateway United and retired Ogun State football icons.
