KLM Emerges Ogun-West APC Most Structured Aspirant

The name Kolawole Lawal might not readily strike a chord but mention KLM to anyone in Ogun State and you will be quickly told he is the best thing going for Ogun West.

Maybe it’s because of his brillianceand impressive track records during his days at ExxonMobil. His is an inspiring story of a poor young man from a smalltown called Oke-Odan in Yewa South Local government area of Ogun state.

But like a soul destined for greatness, KLM rose from a humble background of a bicycle repairer to an enviable career in the oil and gas sector.

Expectedly, his sojourn in life is a study in tenacity, purpose and persistence. During his high school days at Area Community High School in Owode-Yewa, Kola Lawal, one of the school’s first set came out in flying colours to earn himself an enviable status of the best WAEC result in the whole of Yewaland.

His impressive performance got him admission into one of Nigeria’s prestigious University but he could not proceed due to lack of funds. Eventually he got into Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, where he did his Ordinary National Diploma(OND) in Accountancy).

And straight after his OND, then young KLM returned to ABC Limited – a company where his brilliance as an Invoice Clerk earned him commendations. After some few years at ABC Limited, he returned back to school and completed his Higher National Diploma(HND) in (Accountancy).

KLM’s break free moment came when he was posted to Akwa-Ibom state for his NYSC after bagging Bsc in Banking and Finance, Second Class Upper Div and MBA Management from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt.

And like a golden fish, his brilliance quickly paved way for him even outside his domain and he was one of the 50 corps members posted to ExxonMobil. At ExxonMobil, KLM rose through the ranks and served in different capacities in the account department of the company.

Despite the comfort and luxury provided by his plum job, for KLM home is where the heart is. His compassion for his people and their well-being won’t allow him sleep.

Though he has done a lot in the area of humanity in his own capacity but he desire a bigger platform to help many more. So he took the bold step in 2010 at the peak of his career and resigned to venture into politics. He invested a lot of his resources and empowered tens of thousands through his empowerment initiatives.

Though his governorship dreams suffered a set back then while he was in the PDP. KLM who is currently the commissioner for forestry is back to reckoning. And he seems to be the destined candidate to fulfill the Ogun West governorship dreams of many years.

Aside his impressive performancein his current assignment, KLM has garnered so much experience by way of his participation in more than 37 excos meetings of the current administration. According to the ebullient commissioner, he is pinning his agenda on 5-cardinal points called AHEAD – A for Agriculture, H for Health,E for Education, A for Accountability and D for Development.

And if news flittering from the streets of Ogun State is anything to believe, KLMmight be the man to move Ogun state ahead come 2019. The graduate of Rivers State University is not leaving any stone unturned in making his dreams come true especially this time when his principal has openly declared his support for the Ogun West governorship bid.

PRESIDENT MUHAMMADU BUHARI ADDRESS AFTER MEDICAL VACATION.

ADDRESS OF PRESIDENT OF FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, MUHAMMADU BUHARI GCFR ON 21ST AUGUST 2017.

My dear citizens,

I am very grateful to God and to all Nigerians for their prayers. I am pleased to be back on home soil among my brothers and sisters.

2.     In the course of my stay in the United Kingdom, I have been kept in daily touch with events at home. Nigerians are robust and lively in discussing their affairs, but I was distressed to notice that some of the comments, especially in the social media have crossed our national red lines by daring to question our collective existence as a nation. This is a step too far.

3.     In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria. We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united.

4.     Nigeria's unity is settled and not negotiable. We shall not allow irresponsible elements to start trouble and when things get bad they run away and saddle others with the responsibility of bringing back order, if necessary with their blood.

5.     Every Nigerian has the right to live and pursue his business anywhere in Nigeria without let or hindrance.

6.    I believe the very vast majority of Nigerians share this view.

7.     This is not to deny that there are legitimate concerns. Every group has a grievance. But the beauty and attraction of a federation is that it allows different groups to air their grievances and work out a mode of co-existence.

8.     The National Assembly and the National Council of State are the legitimate and appropriate bodies for national discourse.

9.     The national consensus is that, it is better to live together than to live apart.

10.   Furthermore, I am charging the Security Agencies not to let the successes achieved in the last 18 months be a sign to relax.

11.     Terrorists and criminals must be fought and destroyed relentlessly so that the majority of us can live in peace and safety.

12.     Therefore we are going to reinforce and reinvigorate the fight not only against;

·Elements of Boko Haram which are attempting a new series of attacks on soft targets

· Kidnappings, farmers versus herdsmen clashes,

·In addition to ethnic violence fuelled by political mischief makers. We shall tackle them all.

13.   Finally, dear Nigerians, our collective interest now is to eschew petty differences and come together to face common challenges of;

·  Economic security,

·  Political evolution and integration

·  As well as lasting peace among all Nigerians.

14.     I remain resolutely committed to ensuring that these goals are achieved and maintained. I am so glad to be home.

15.    Thank you and may God bless our dear Nation.
