Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State has been honored by the Theater Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association of Nigeria with the TAMPAN Man of the Year award.
The Governor after receiving the award on Thursday in Abeokuta during the 3rd National Convention of the Association promised to do more for the state and Theatre Art saying "the reward of hard work is more work and this will spur me to do more".
Governor Amosun who disclosed that Ogun State is the root of Theatre Art in Nigeria appreciated the association for bringing the convention back home.
Revealing his administration's plan for the association, the Governor said, we are going to have a 50 hectares film village for the Theatre Industry to operate and also Museums to keep the memories of great giants in the state like Fela Kuti, Herbert Ogunde amongst others.
The Governor while thanking them for being worthy partners in his rebuilding mission called on the entertainment practitioners not to relent in their support for his government pledging to deliver more on his electioneering campaign promises even as it wined down.
Earlier in his address, the President of TAMPAN, Prince Dele Odule said "we have decided to honor him with this award because he has changed the face of Ogun State and has proven to love the state and theatre industry dearly.
